Is this a good timetable? (1 Viewer)

Hello!
There really isn't a generally 'good' or 'bad' timetable because one timetable is perceived differently by different people. But for me, I'll give you my feed back, of what I would feel following this timetable.
First, many start during 8am. I live in the western suburbs so its difficult for me to get to Mac, therefore I try to make my starting times to the earliest, at 9am. But this may be different to you esp, if you live close to Mac.
Second, its 4 days a week and on Monday you end 7pm. Personally I have a lot of extra curricular activities and it would be far too much to balance this timetable. If you have extra activities, please consider it too, so you can go to and from school with ample time for your activities.
Third, there is large gap between your subjects on Monday. I don't necessarily like this because I don't like wasting time, BUT you most certainly can use this time socialising, or most likely STUDYING. this is actually a gift for study time.
But then again, this is all MY 2 cents. I hope I helped somehow give you an idea of other factors you should consider to get a 'good timetable'

Yeah that lecture on monday i cant really do much with it the only other times are wednesday which i dont want because i want at least 1 day without uni, and tuesday from 4-6 which i dont want cause id like to work tuesday afternoon. If it helps, im very close to MQ, a 10 minute drive. I dont really have any extra curricular activies right now, but i plan on becoming very involved with sport and social life at uni.
Also, is there any room to change the timetable once uni starts? I'm worried my timetable may end up being horrible for me, and then im stuck in it for 6 months.

Hi!, Oh well I guess Monday has to stay then. And considering your situation, I'm thinking that Tuesday should be very good for you! As well as your other days. I also intend to join groups in Macquarie, but unfortunately we don't know ENTIRELY what times are needed for them. But of course, once you're used to uni life, it should fit perfectly in. As groups may not need you to be present in meeting ALL the time.
In terms of changing your timetable, you can change it NOW as we speak! I believe you can change it any day up to the start of the semester. But I'm not entirely sure. I'm a first year student myself and are only giving information that I have received from mentors, other university students, teachers and the help desk. So don't hesitate to ask these people if you have any queries!

But you're going to Macquarie right? They do this because that is 'general discussion' on university. But to get specific responses, Macquarie students in the Macquarie forum will be able to answer your questions. Other people from different uni's may just confuse you and their information will probably have no relevance to you.
This is your best bet!

As for your previous questions about changing times during the semester, no you cannot. Most unit co-ordinars will let you change tutorials during week1, and maybe week 2 at the latest. And ray_bann is right, students from other Universities are usually confusing and their "advice" isn't really relevant. With that said there are still students from other Unis that post "advice" here....

It doesn't look too bad but your Monday definitely doesn't look very convenient.

Some semesters you just end up with a shitty timetable, there's not a whole lot you can do about it except try to use your time as effectively as possible. Your timetable isn't ideal, but it could be a lot worse. Don't stress about it too much, there's not much you can do.

That is a good timetable!
But for me it wouldn't be good because I can't afford to commute at night :L Plus thursday is rather packed..
But I guess the 2 days off compensates for it!
I actually prefer my timetable to that because although you have an extra day off (i have like 1 lecture on monday that finishes at 9 so i pretty much have a 3 day week) all your classes are in the middle of the day. I like being finished early.
That's what I plan to do with some of my lectures that are late too. lol
