It was good when it came out. Plus with a bit of tweaking you can even play Doom 3 on it at a reasonable frame rate.
Too bad it looks as ugly as sin :p. By the way, I'm trying to find a PCI TNT2 for my oldschool computer; i want to be able to play System Shock 2 and Homeworld in my bedroom.

I find it strange that you seem to believe there is a "correct" or "incorrect" answer to such matters. In my experience it has been quite horrible.
I don't find your opinion either right or wrong. However, you projected your opinion as advice and since my experience conflicts with your experience, I felt the need to point this out. Sorry if I phrased it poorly.

Perhaps it has to do with the screen type itself. I don't know. But others when they play games on my TPC, after they adjust to it, see no problems with the 12.1" screen.

It runs at, in desktop mode, 1400*1050 res. Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 32M/64M. "The screen is a 12.1" poly silicon TFT with a Wacom-developed electromagnetic digitizer." I didn't know it was TFT. How does that differ from LCD, BTW? Anyway something about it being SVGA. OR SXVGA or somesuch.

Still this won't help you understand possibly why it is OK for me if the plain simple fact is you hate gaming on 12.1". But I don't know whether that specifically is the case or not.

But anyway, I don't want to fight you about it and Lord Ac can tell us himself soon whether or not he find gaming OK on a 12" screen.

In regards to playing on a 12" screen, i personally prefer to play SNES roms and older computer games on my 15 year old 14" inch Osbourne CRT. It gives a warm and vintage feel with its very curvey screen and vibrant colours which kind of blend together. Most older games just look better than on my 17; well, In my opinion anyway. It also changes resolution in no time at all, which is awesome.

TFT is one type of LCD (in fact the best type widely available)

Geforce 5200 is a dodgy card, but in this circumstances, it will do.

Screen should be XGA at the least, but you wouldn't want to play anything high end on that past VGA anyway.
