a group of genes that code for same function in different species is called gene homologue, or HOX

- involved in structural and neurological sturctures in vertebrates
- transgenic animals, genes from one mammal can regulate the same process in the other organism/mammal.

HOX genes play in controlling morphogenesis

any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
