IS UWS the 'crap' uni? (1 Viewer)

Ive kinda gotten the impression that UWS is like the 'crap' uni and all that... im in yr12 this yr.. Is it HONESTLY that bad? cause im interested in goin there cause the UAI cutoffs r failry reasonable! so juz write back i guess! Thanx Dudes!

absolutely not, while perhaps it lacks the prestige sydney and nsw have, at the end you have the same degree
that was my second, third and fourth preference lol

Its not a "crap" uni! People just preceive it that way cause its "western" sydney.

If you can get a high UAI and get accepted into Usyd, UNSW, UTS... then go there but if you can't then UWS is your best option... unless you want to travel 2-3 hours to wollongong or newcastle!

it's not the crap uni.. but i'd look into the course you want to do first. UWS is excellent in some courses and not so good in others (like all universities)

I reckon, um also consider travelling time cause travelling to Wollongong is really annoying, by the way I drive, so I don't even catch public transport! If a UwS campus is close to you, go there

no uws is not as crap as such.....really depends on what course u wanna do.....same goes with other unis...

To be honest - i don't hold UWS as highly as i do USYD and UNSW, i mean i go there, and the people there are *great*, UWS was my 7th choice.

Hey Dingo.. your doin pretty much the course i wanna do.
Bachelor. Business & Commerce in Marketing. So u tell me, is it worth it 2 go there???

its good
but its the same as all the other business courses uws offers. Majors are the same !! the only thing different is some of the first year units.
u need uai of 87.85 for parra
and around 79ish for campbelltown

and its not offered at penrith for next year.

but of course you'd choose your preferences like dis
if you have a UAI in the mid 90s you can expect to get accepted into unsw or usyd
if you have a uai in the low 90s you can expect to get accepted in uts or umac
and anything in the 80s will get u into a business course at uws
i think all business cut offs will go up to the 80s for next year
no more 70s.. and for this particular course. B Business and Commerce. i see it might even be in the low 90s if demand is there. but if that happens it would mean other unis cut offs would rise as well. so its all a chain reaction.

UNSW B Commerce
USYD B Commerce
UTS B Business
UMAC B Commerce
UWS B Business

Theres just rumers going around that UWS is crap cause of the lack of prestiage - but who cares in like 5 more yrs all cut offs would raise to around 80's - 90's the way its rising now.

exactly. nearly everyon ei've met at UWS are doing arts o__O;; which went up by 8, by the way, the highest amount for the 2004 cutoffs.
