Through the fault of Hamas actually blocking the border with Egypt and stopping people going through. Egypt opened their borders to the wounded and Hamas won't let anyone out.

You as well as i know that Hamas can not stop ambulances passing through the crossing as all their men are being attacked. Being under a state of war, things get very busy and complicated so its understandable if they might not have known crossing was open. Egypt is a traitor to all palestinians and Arabs and is heavily influenced by the US. Shame on Egypt for letting the siege take place.

An Israeli naval vessel has hit a small boat carrying activists trying to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The Dignity was reportedly taking on water as it limped towards Lebanon on Tuesday.

The Free Gaza Movement, which organised the attempt to reach the territory with more than three tonnes of medical aid, said their boat was "rammed" and shots were fired.

The group said the Dignity was in international waters about 115km off the coast of Gaza when the incident occurred late on Monday.

Yigal Palmor, a spokesman for Israel's foreign ministry, denied there had been any shooting but said that the ships had made "physical contact".

He said that the crew of the Dignity had failed to respond to Israeli naval radio contact.

Didn't say if the activists were Westerners....

i was watching a 9/11 documentary on discovery channel. and whoever made is either fucked up or they have fucked up resources.

they said that the terrorists, on the night before made calls for prostitutes, and porn movies.

Pretty sure adultery and sexual excess are overshadowed as sins by the large scale slaughter of innocent civilians. So if the 9/11 bombers were willing to do the latter, it shouldn't come as a surprise that their morals were lax around the former.

Yeah dumbass that's why they've closed the border and the border guards opened fire on Gaza residents. We all know the Egyptian regime is really well disposed to Islamic nutcases like Hamas. It's not like the Egyptian regime doesn't have its own problems with Islamic nutters (the muslim brotherhood) and hence is very wary of Hamas. If you don't think a Government like the one running Egypt and (Jordan too for that matter) are quite happy to see Hamas and Hezbollah get the shit kicked out of them every couple of years by Israel you are kidding yourself.

A video on Hamas TV this morning blended pictures of Hamas fighters shooting at Israel with pictures of injured Israelis and medical evacuation scenes.

In addition, the visuals include pictures of skulls dripping with blood, captioned: "Let them taste violent death."

Other narrations and texts include:

Hamas TV acknowledged this morning that the vast majority of those killed are from the Hamas military. A news ticker running repeatedly from 10:00 AM announced:

More than 180 Palestinian policemen were killed including the [Police] Commander, General Tawfik Jaber.

In the background Hamas TV is repeatedly broadcasting the same scenes of dozens of bodies of the uniformed Hamas soldiers who were killed in Israel's first attack yesterday when Israel hit the Hamas officer's course graduation ceremony.

Hamas TV reported that Iranian President Ahmadinejad threatened Israel in response to Israel's attack on Hamas. The Hamas TV news ticker reported numerous times:

Iran's support of the Hamas is not surprising as Hamas is a major supplier of weapons for Hamas and Hamas military units have undergone training in Iran.

Mahmoud Abbas: Hamas Responsible for Violence

In a news conference today from Cairo, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas placed the blame for the violence in the Gaza Strip squarely on the shoulders of Hamas. He described how he repeatedly made contact with Hamas and implored them not to break the ceasefire. He lamented that the violence in the Gaza Strip could have been avoided had Hamas not broken the ceasefire.

The following is Mahmoud Abbas's statement at a joint press conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abu al-Gheit.

I say in all honesty, we made contact with leaders of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. We spoke with them in all honesty and directly, and after that we spoke with them indirectly, through more than one Arab and non-Arab side... We spoke with them on the telephone and we said to them: We ask of you, don't stop the ceasefire, the ceasefire must continue and not stop, in order to avoid what has happened, and if only we had avoided it.

Nolan if you actually believe this has anything to do with Hamas you're a retard. No really, you're smarter than that and you do know it has nothing to do with Hamas.

Also I'm sure you know that in the 6-month cease-fire which was initially broken by Israel Hamas had not fired a single rocket or done anything which the state of Israel could condemn other than not being able to control the starving Gazans due to Israel's blockade.

An Israeli spokesperson was on Sky News last night (which so far surprisingly is doing a very balanced report on these events) and they made it pretty clear that this was an attack not on Hamas but rather on the "resistance mentality" which exists in Gaza. Basically it's an attempt to break the Palestinian peoples resolve to resist the occupation and to resist and accept Israel's control over it's state.

Basically Israel is Big Brother and the Palestinians who want their legal rights are thoughtcriminals who need to be punished.

If you've been paying attention to Israel's "withdrawal" of the Gaza strip since August 2005 you would know that they have been progressively strangling it from the basic neccesities needed for life using flimsy justification time and time again. Basically with whatever justification the could find they closed the borders which Gaza share with Egypt, and stationed Israeli border operators on the borders. Deciding how much food the Palestinians are allowed to eat, how much medicine they're allowed to have, and also how much energy they're allowed to power their generators.

This is a nazi tactic straight out of the warsaw ghettos (I believe I have my nazi history right but correct me if I'm wrong).

The blockades on Gaza occured prior to Hamas even being elected, but have intensified ever since then. As to your other point that Hamas doesn't care about Gaza, that is rubbish. They honoured a cease-fire for 6 months even when the people of Gaza were starving and Israel attacked their cabinet members (in November I believe).
