Was the Jordanian renouncement of ties with the W.Bank a stop forward in the peace process between israel and arab nations?

I think it is, but i cant explicitly give a proper reason why...

Because it turned the west bank into another Gaza Strip. Since nobody was funding the area extremist views started to prevail there and Israel now had an eastern terror spot for extreme PLO activity. So who else could Israel blame for this BUT Jordan?
