Hehe, not in the Macq club but have been doing some origami, going out (2 friends so far), reading the Farseer trilogy by Hobb, BOS'ing, checking for exam results about 10 times a day, learning Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C sharp minor.....yep, that's pretty much it!

be careful with games, sitting to long before the screen and gaming can fry your eyeballs, u might be wearing some thick glasses before u graduate.

I went shopping once and went to a get together at a mates house once (shakes head, i haven't gone out or seen my friends properly at all). The only socialising i do is in the lunchroom at work lol

I have 4 FULL days off next week though

My plan for those 4 days are

• Applying for youth allowance (bloody hell apparently i could have gotten it ages ago!) does anyone know if i can get back pay? lol i was able to gain independency ages ago. Oh and does anyone know if centrelink will help pay for me to go study overseas?
• Gym
• Excercise
• Doing tax return
• Learning spanish
• Fixing up brother's gf's computer before giving it back to her
• Get my application ready for Mexico

With YA, they won't pay you back for what you missed.

Also, you have to earn between a certain amount per fortnight to receive the payment. It is between $230 and $550 for me. And even then it varies...I think the lower your income, the greater YA. Also, you use your gross income from your normal job when reporting.

I've been having the bludgiest time, just got back from a week in the city with my boyfriend, been working every now & then, reading lots of Chuck Palahniuk books.
I love sleeping in...

ETA: the best thing that happened to me these holidays! I am a *huge* Neighbours fan and for those who don't watch, the woman in brown plays Susan Smith/Kinski/Kennedy (depending on the season) and she's great, my favourite character. See how excited I am?lol

You will get backpaid from when you made the initial intent to claim though - if you lodged the intent but weren't approved until a few weeks later, you'll be paid from when the initial intent was lodged.

Made for a $800 payment first up for me, rather nice.

I found out that i make too much money coz i earn 650-700 a fortnight and that even if i do gain independency from my parents.. i can get like 8 dollars a fortnight if im lucky :| lol

but when i goto mexico i can get youth allowance because its still part of my course and i won't be working then and hence also be able build up netbank credits or whatever its called... so when i come back and i work the hours i normally do i can get paid the full amount which would be $220 a fornight, whereas when im mexico i can get $330 a fortnite or something

I'll tackle it - basically if you earn less than $236 a fortnight, you can accrue the differnece as income bank credits.

These are then applied to your income later on when it exceeds the $236 figure. They act to reduce your income (as judged by centrelink) - much like tax deductions.

e.g. $100 income bank credits, $336 earnt income this fortnight

236 + 100 = 336

therefore you do not lose any of your payment from earning more than the limit.

You can accrue up to $6000 of income bank credits.
