Hey guys, just letting everyone know that itunes has a "bug" with SP2. (well for me and several others too)

Basicaly, i wanted to upgrade to the latest itunes 4.7 - but some settings in SP2 deny Itunes from completing the install.

Calling up Apple Tech support just say, its an O.S problem and there's nothing you/they can do.

Even trying to go back to the older versions does not install...so basically, ive got no other way of putting songs on my pod.

Just beware if your considering to upgrade your tunes and running SP2.

Ill get a screenshot of my errors.

Check it out, if anyone has a solution or experienced this, any suggestions , as when i get those errors, itunes automatically uninstalls itself, and no can do :(

I read that uninstalling SP2, installing 4.7, then reinstalling SP2 sometimes works around this issue, but that seems like a lot of hassle.

Googling this turns up a few results, and most of them seem to suggest that it's a bug in the apple installation rather than SP2, so maybe there'll be a fix soon?

SP2's been sexy for me, on all 4 of my computers.

Does iTunes download anything off the web during install? Perhaps XP is blocking that with its shit firewall. Try disabling the XP Firewall (Which sucks anyway) and attempt to install again?

Interesting. SP2 has screwed a lot of users over in several respects (Itunes, not booting, etc) but for others it's working just fine.

I'm a little wary to install it, presently. Especially with the Itunes problem =|

When you go to install Itunes, right click the installer exe:

- Click Run as/Install as...

- Select the 'Administrator' account - not the account with admin priveleges - the actual 'Administrator' account. It should have no password by default.

- Try installing it now.

Not sure if will work but I think it might.
