you have to search 'campus' as the keyword
sometimes jobs at macquarie come up. but i have found that most of the jobs at macquarie are unadvertised. if there is a specific place you want to work in you would be better approaching them to ask them how to get a job. if you want to work with your department ask them and they might take your resume. and keep searching on careerhub in the meantime.

There is also another job board (if you search for the MQ HR dept it will come up), but all those jobs are fulltime for professors and tutors.

As IAB said above, most campus jobs arent advertised, and those that are are snappled so SO quickly because of the awesome pay.

The way I got into working for the uni was through mentoring, and I now have casual jobs through the PR dept, and they are quite frequent at the moment. Other than that, keep an eye out around semester break times. Thats how Skittled got his fulltime job on campus over the summer hols.

MJ, is that because they then advertised to the mentors (rather than on careerhub)?

*pricks up ears* Awesome pay, eh? Can you pm me and tell me how much? I'm sort of on the lookout for a new job... my current one pays quite nicely, however emotionally it sucks/I have major issues with management so I don't expect to be sticking around past the end of this year...

Uni pay starts at $22.82/hr (level 2). I assume everyone's on AT LEAST level 2.

I guess the pay isn't THAT awesome...but if you're working Sundays that's $40/hr.

22 bucks an hour is awesome pay for me goddamit!!!! :p

PR jobs are groovy. The Open day jobs are fun enough that i would have done it without the pay (though dont tell them that, or they will prob get the idea and make it voluntary work).

AS MJ said, mentoring is a good way of getting the extra jobs. Iambored, i think the jobs are available to all, but i think some PR jobs (i.e. for open day) were put out on email to mentors especially.... because we are special....

I've had paid work through mentoring and PR (I went to a few schools giving the MQ law spiel).

However, you can't beat regular work such as the library, efs comp lab demons, ERIC or the International Office. It's convenient, reasonably good pay and very very flexible (you can swap or take off any shifts you want without a reason).

I think in my PSY104 lecture they mentioned that if you want to copy out notes for disabled people, it's $16/one hour lecture or tute or prac (forgot the rest).. so basically just photocopy what you do in class ehehehhe X]

It is voluntary, that's the point. They don't want people doing it for money, otherwise they'd be shit mentors and not actually do what they're supposed to do.

I've wondered about the library - how do people score jobs there? Do you just apply, or do they advertise? I'd love to work on campus more permanently.

It is voluntary. You do it out of the goodness of your heart. And thats why we get "special" jobs like Jamie said, to keep money-suckers out of it.

... Just like Rob said above! (Sorry didnt see that!)

yeah mentoring is voluntary. When i said we get paid for Open day, that was through PR.

icf, you can apply to become a mentor at the end of the year. If you want to work at a stall, theres always the mentor store, who are always looking for people to run it during o-week (but you dont get paid of course!! lol)

I am quite happy doing it free - it just seems like so much fun - so any money (if there was any) would have just been a bonus! :D
