Yeah, it was basically saying, even though we are in 2002 in a high school in Sydney, can we still appreciate it, even though we're not in Elizabethan england with the same values etc

ie, is Donne good in different contexts?

It was the expected question frame - evaluating text's reception in different contexts is the thing to keep your eye on Enigma, the rest is just language analysis :)

I had that question too.
The pity about it was because I am in a crappy advanced class where people don't know what they are doing, we didn't even discuss any of that at all!!!!
So I had no idea what to write on place.
I bodge it a lil
But it wont be good and now i am screwed for a scholarship:(

Yeah, it's lucky that I clicked on to the fact that half of the topic was critics responses to the poetry just before the trial exam..... I had no idea it was so important before then!!

Think they're afraid of finding out the truth..?

In all honesty, I know teachers who are at this site. None from our school, yet ;)

Yes, it is debatable, and I would win the debate.
ok, either someone with a chronic ego, or something against me...... who could that be.....

it's all open to opinion.

We really should have done a MHS intro thread. Hehe.

Here's who I've seen here:

MinAi = Minai
Big Willy = Will
Hannah = Hannah
~bec~ = Bec
hurrotisrobbo = Robert (H)
MoonlightSonata = Brent
Fradam = Fradam :D

Ahh Brent. My suspicions were right. I'm glad you think so much of yourself.
