The government gets asked to do alot of things that would increase voter numbers, but they don't....So why would they become members of Hillsong purely to gain votes? It wouldn't exactly be a viable exercise ... And they don't really need to join Hillsong to gain religious voters, as we all know Costello and Howard are staunch CatholicsKorn said:I have read that article before, and i havent seen any other links between them, so im inclined to think that it was to gain votes at a later election or because they were asked to and it would be a good media opportunity
Korn, not all relationships need be 'official' or require continual affirmation. Stop disputing what is now a common 'fact'.Korn said:No not really, thats like saying that polies that do publicity stints or try to get votes from ppl makes them have an ongoing relationship
They are both Catholics as u say, so why would they go to Hillsong (as Hillsong isnt Catholic)katie_tully said:The government gets asked to do alot of things that would increase voter numbers, but they don't....So why would they become members of Hillsong purely to gain votes? I'm inclined to think they're involved with Hillsong coz they're religious
Whats ur point, yes there religious, but if they arent from the same denomination as Hillsong, there is no reason to think they would automatically support it. If they are from the same denomination then, yes they are highly likely to support it.katie_tully said:Catholic, Anglican (kudos Generator) - my mistake.
They're religious, alright?
Don't be so god damn naive Korn. Why on earth would the Howard government affiliate itself with something it does not support?Korn said:Whats ur point, yes there religious, but if they arent from the same denomination as Hillsong, there is no reason to think they would automatically support it. And Generator, u have only one instance where they are connected that only proves they arent totally against it. (there is a difference between not disliking something and actually liking it!)
to gain votes, what do u think polies, especially Liberal polies dont know how to manipulate ppl to garner voteskatie_tully said:Don't be so god damn naive Korn. Why on earth would the Howard government affiliate itself with something it does not support?

You would not open a centre if you did not like it or support its purpose, and it's more than clear where Costello stands on the general issue. There is a relationship, Korn, whether you want to admit it or not.

Oh yeah there have got a branch in the US, dont they?chilipepper said:howard belongs to a denomination which is rising in the australian population in this day and age "the dumbass"

However it doesnt explain Howards relationship, i thought Howard was of the conservative Christian groups (im not sure which one though) So if anyone knows what denomination he belongs to plz enlighten

miss_gtr said:ok i dont think this has anything to do with it, but if johnny howard retires next year..like doesnt serve out his whole term, why is it that peter costello gets to take over? shouldnt there be like a re-election or atleast an election amonst his party..??
