Hello,

I came across this topic while flipping the Legal Studies book and found out that there are loads of disadvantages of using the jury system rather than advantages. It may be true that the use of jury is to present the society but what about the cost, the tedious appointment and also the lack of skills?

What are your opinions on this?

Yes, i do agree that juries has many disadvantages.
The costs of jury service is expensive and time-consuming.
It is also not easy to find a suitable candidate for jury service as there are many requirements to achieve.
Most of all, juries are lacking in skills and are unqualified. They do not have the necessary legal background which judges have.
That is why the jury system is not worth.
Hope this helps!

From my point of view, juries are important in deciding a criminal cases. Juries reflect the society.

However, I would also agree with you that the jury system is inconvenient and they are swayed by emotions rather than deciding the technicality of the case from the law point of view.

You may also check out some information on juries from textbook. I'm sure that will help.
