people on whirlpool where telling me they upload 20 + gigs and month and havent got shit for it. i dotn think they care if your on an unlimited plan, they might care if you are on one of the smaller plans

tho the operator refused to tell me what song, but he said he knows. but he did however tell me the time / date and the program being used (kazaa).

oh well, that was then. it hasn't happened lately, since i upload atleast 8gb a month because of bittorrent / emule.. so as long as they dont ban me now i'm happy

he probably was bluffing about what song u were downloading. and kazaa was the most used filesharign program at the time, so he said it was that. maybe u were just uploading too much and they banned you.

My laptop (connected wirelessly) usually hits ~12Mbps, my PC (wired) usually hits about 15+. And yes, yesterday was annoying, couldnt have happened at a worse time for me.

Record and movie companies hire private companies that spend all day on P2P networks pretending to be other users - when you downloading from them, you are giving away your IP address and what you are downloading. Simple. These private companies just send off an email to the abuse address of your ISP, demanding you stop, etc etc. Google around Whirlpool and EFF and you'll even find sample emails that these people send out to ISPs.

Yes thats right, that file you are downloading right now might be from someone working for the RIAA, MPAA or the MIPI.

wow, that explains how they knew all about it then. at first i thought they were breaching some sort of privacy right, but yeah, i was young at the time. after that happened i never used kazaa again. luckily, the files i'm downloading are all legal. seeing as the anime i download isn't licenced, and downloading licenced anime = illegal, so i think im safe, for now.

Browse host before you do it and also, just be a bit more careful. Wat the upload spped for cable for optus, its like 28k the way it goes.
