just wondering about converting wmp to mp3 (1 Viewer)

is there anyway u can convert wmp files into mp3 files? my bro just got a psp, it needs mp3, but not sure how to make it work... sorry if this is a really stupid question

IIRC the new dbpoweramp doesn't have the mp3 plugin anymore =( *glad to have the old version* Only problem with dbpoweramp is it screws up when ID3 tags are not in english- or the filename isn't in english.

You'll get shit quality if you convert a compressed file (ie wma > mp3). You'd be much better ripping from the CDs again (which I'm sure you own ).

resonating the usual mod lines, it is still illegal if you own the cd. i believe it is only legal if you own the copyrights.


anyway, i also used the same program. to actually convert .mp3>wma>.mp3. because my mp3 player would read the original mp3's. (the mp3's were recorded lectures )

Yeah I know that but it is ethical if you own the CDs but unethical if you don't.

yeh , u might aswell just rip your Cds again. or download the songs as mp3s.

i was a converting noob my self back in the day and ripped some CDs into wma . now i punch my self in the face everytime i think back about how foolish i was,.

WMA is good for some mp3s since it's got smaller file size though...

Btw.. WMA -> MP3 is ok but to be on safe side use a lower bitrate so that you aren't wasting space.
