"The summer TV industry summer hiatus has come to an end," Seven spokesman Simon Francis said.

"Programming now has to be vital across 52 weeks of the year and not just the 40 weeks of [ratings] survey [which also excludes two weeks over Easter].

"It gives us a chance to show the audience programs we have faith in that might otherwise be lost in the cut and thrust of daily ratings which instantly make or break success."
