Anyone seen this production? what do u think???
Does anyone understand the whole context thing? i asked the actors in Q&A time and they explained it was aboutrecent wars etc but why? what was the significance. this production seemed to emphasise on the politics and i dont know why??
Also analysis of the characters . i was very confused- were we suppose to feel sorry for goneril and regan because i did at the start but by the end i wanted to kill both of them! also gloucestor, was he gulliable and naive or just plain old and stupid??
i loved the fool. ..
anyway give us ur thoughts on it if u can .. thanks xoxo

edmond was cool, best character imo.
he was potrayed as both handsome (yuck, hearing this from a guy), yet very cunning;. he constantly involves the audience, acting as if we were fellow conspirators of his evil plot.

the fool , both physical and mental terms reflected that of lear.....u could expand on that...

i thought glocestor was just old and stoopid, cant really give any reasons, just a feeling i had

u really go with ur oen feelings about whether u feel sorry for a particular character or not...as long as u justify it.
imo, i though goneril did NOT make me feel sorry for her at any time of the play, her dominant features and long walkin strides highlighted her presence in the play......
cordelia talked really timidly, and was very short......which highlighted her "weakness"

about the context......it is a postmodern play and this was supported by the synthetic music and special effects used.

it was ploitical in a sense (the division of the kingdom scene)......but u must justify why u feel this way.....

I went and l swear the guys from some school were getting a boner over the not even sex scene.

That is what ruined it.

Edmund broke a light with his foot, and the servant hit his head on the light inside the scaffold when he was falling.

I went last Wednesday, (17th March) so if you went you might have seen me :)
