i just got my mark for KL back from trials and i got 12/20. but i thought i answered it really good, exactly what the teacher told us in class, focus on 2 productions and the different reading it have and do write on two of the scenes on each play. the style and structure is article and thats exactly what i wrote.
my essay got basically all the content and structural answer as that of the 2003 HSC exampler high band answer.

the teacher told me i focused on the wrong area, not the comparison of production but the actually form and structure of the play. Textual integraty and language form and features, and context (which i have)

could someone please elaborate on what i need to write on for KL, and where i should focus my writing on, and how do i join the two productions with the book by those things listed above.

PS: what is textual integraty?
PPS: sorry about the long post

Yeah that's so annoying when you write about the wrong thing.

What was the trial question? And I don't think I understand, were you meant to write about the productions, but you focussed on the play, or was it the other way round?

we had a diff teacher which taught us KL, and she said to focus on production and the various readings the production incoporate, but the hypocrit when marking said we need to focus on the play it self, in areas of language, form and structure, and other technical crap!!!!!!!

What i wrote for that question if focus on the productions, with scenes and interpretations which adapt and re-interprete KL to modern day audience. I also talked about how the understandings came about through context and what my new understanding is..

so i was just asking for a elaborated example in talking about form, language and structure and textual integraty as my teacher never told us

Essay question: You are to submit a article to "student think tank" for HSC students doing KL.
Focus of the publication is to illustrate how, after researching other' perspectives and ideas on the set text, students have developed their own understanding and interpretation.
In your article justify your understanding and interpretation of KL, through analysis of text and reference to any critical material or production of the play that has influenced you.

textual integrity is about whether a text "holds together" if you want to be basic, more explanation is given here: http://community.boredofstudies.org/showthread.php?t=77139

Well here you would demonstrate using readings and productions, how the text may be seen/understood by students. But the thing is with 2u english, in a lot of the questions it is a given that you discuss language, technique etc. for instance techniques used by Eyre in such and such scene conveyed bla bla on the family and on it goes. You always discuss readings, productions, and techniques whether they be the soliloquy and iambic pentameter, or the camera angles and crimson walls. Does any of that answer your question?

it kinda, like i talked about camera angle, character placement and crimson wall and all that, but not the actual language.
but all the language the actors use come straight from the book, so there is no alterations...so how should i actually link or be original about it in comparing same scenes from two productions, and how to link the language and form back to the original play?

Actually you'll find not everything is exact in the lines between the original KL and the other productions. For instance in Brooke, you will find that many of Cordelia's lines are deleted to generate less sympathy for the character and so on, which is integral in the more feministic approach to gonerill and regan as they seem less evil in comparison.

a feminist approach is where the director make the female charactors stronger right? and for the responder to feel sympathy for them and their actions?

where could i get the quotes used in the production, as i dun really have it recorded and can;t watch again

does anyone have an exampler essay based on the aims of the sylabus like textual integrative, form, feature and language structure, and please do highlight where each part occurs so that noobs like us which is blind to such things can see it.

or even better, please explain to us all that stuff basing around KL.

thanks :)
