most ppl dont pass (pass mark is 50%) and he will sometimes still accept you even if you fail if he thinks you have potential. yeah the entrance exam is hard but its not impossible just try your hardest.
what they test is based on whatever the y10 class in kurts is learning this year/term. find out what they covered as of recently and revise that
You don't need to do really REALLY well to get in, but the test is quite challenging. You should probably review topics such as logarithms, the cos²x+sin²x=1,1+tan²x=sec²x things where you prove that LHS=RHS (i forgot what they are called), 3D trig w/ angles of elevation and bearings, quadratics, functions, absolute value etc. If you can't find anything just ask ChatGPT to generate some questions for you to do ig

For Kurt's entrance test, while the difficulty can vary depending on the specific program, it's generally designed to assess whether students have a solid grasp of key mathematical concepts at an advanced level. Since you're in an accelerated enrichment math class, you're already positioned well to handle the test, but it's important to make sure you're reviewing the right content.
Typical Content Tested:
The entrance test usually covers a mix of Year 10 to early Year 11 topics, particularly those that are foundational for more advanced mathematics. Some key areas you might want to focus on include:
Algebra: Simplifying expressions, solving equations (linear, quadratic), and inequalities.
Functions: Graphing and understanding the properties of linear, quadratic, and possibly cubic functions.
Coordinate Geometry: Equations of lines, distance between points, and finding midpoints.
Advanced Problem Solving: Questions that require critical thinking and applications of multiple concepts.
Tips for Success:
Practice Year 10/11 level questions: Go through the syllabus for both year levels and focus on mastering these topics.
Time management: Entrance exams are often timed, so practice completing questions under time pressure.
Review enrichment content: Since you’re in an accelerated program, expect a few curveballs that go beyond the standard Year 10 material.
While it's important to do well, most entrance exams also consider how well-rounded your mathematical thinking is, not just your raw score. If you’re consistent with your preparation, you should be in a good position to succeed.
