Landscape Essay
I am in year 11 and currently doing "Landscapes" as an area of study in English Advance.
The question is:
Choose two poems from your prescribed text and two related texts. How have these texts helped you to understand the inter-relationship between people and their environments?
In your response, make connections between your texts and evaluate how successfully they explore aspects of Landscape.
I have choosen "Ozymandias" by Percy Bysshe Shelley and "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost as my prescribed texts, and "Time and Tide" by Tim Winton and a page in the book "The Rabbits" by Shaun Tan as my related texts.
Some topic sentences :

Some topic sentences :
- The idea of the physical conflict btw man and the environment is embodied in the poem Ozymandias. The influence of the passage of time, the nature of man as fallible and the power of the landscape are all themes evoked by the poem.
- Time & Tide: Landscapes can be unpredictable, it can create fear of the unknown. Humans can have a devastating impact on landscapes by taking advantage of its vulnerability.
