Because there is no evidence to suggest that the quality of teaching is any better at selective schools, and I would prefer to work at my own pace and set my own goals rather than feel pressured in a highly competitive environment.

More often that not the pressure to perform at selective schools is so intense many students break down and need to seek counselling. It doesnt matter whether you attend a selective or not, it is all up to the individual on how they perform.
