maybe its a little too early to bring this up.. or people are too stressed out about the exams.. but i guess its important to look to something important...
4 weeks until the last truly free holidays we're gonna get for 15months. how do you plan on spending (or wasting) them?

also.. on a related matter.. what are people planning on doin in their summer holidays?

It's not the last holiday you'll have for 15 months. Almost everyone ends up procrastinating each holidays away except for the stuvac leading up to the trials. Bit of advice, is enjoy your summer holidays. I studied for a few hours almost every day during that period, when i could have been doing better things. I ended up burning out once term one started, which consequently stayed with me for the rest of the term.

Agreed! Although one thing is certain this will be the last holidasys you shall truely be free from assessments and exams to study for, so in that aspect make the most of it. But hopeles5ly is also right a lot of the holidays during HSC year most students use them to unwind and to slowly complete assignments so asside from study vac where most the time should be spent 'studying' you will still have some fun holidays ahead. All be it you may feel guilting socialising when you should be completing major works, assessments and study but such is life. :p

i think a lot of ppl make a big deal about it being the last holidays...

i don't see it that way.

i plan to enjoy other holidays, weekends etc in moderation as well. i think if you work consistently throughout the year you don't need to jail yourself up. you can afford to take time off...which i think is healthy.

so for these holidays, i definately will be having a bit more fun than usual, but i dont' intend to go all desperate for "fun". i'll balance it out with some general reading before year 12 starts.

haha relax in the holidays. But yeah, i've got plans in the coming holidays: buy all the resources that I need for the hsc year, practice equations+algebra (i'm bad at them), read this book that i've been craving to read but havn't had time to read it.

I got no idea. Maybe using the time to actually play music properly and not my 15mins. Make something for one of my friends! I owe her still.

My recommendation: have as much fun as you can have in the upcoming christmas holidays, whether it might be going overseas or spending the holidays at the beach.

going to canada for the christmas break.. and i'll be doing my history extension major and english extension stuff throughout. how lame , but that's because i find that i can't do any work during summer here. haha. it's too hot to concentrate, and the nice weather is always begging me to sleep/do nothing/go to the beach.

I did sh*t all in the summer before year 12 officially started. In fact, i find that most people who worked on their history extension project and ee2 mw during that time changed their topics/focuses/or never used their information gathered by the time term started.

In the week or so before 'term 2' of year 12 started, i thought i'd just write some notes in my logbook for both these subjects. However i changed from a paradise lost critique for ee2 to a romeo&juliet postmodern appropriation in a feminist theory discourse and something on martin luther the founder of protestantism to mr reagan and pomo for hist ext.

Thus in conclusion, don't work on your humanities until term starts because we always procrastinate anyway, so why not just enjoy the nice sunny rays of summer :)

Or i guess you could work on your sciences/maths because there's not as much freedom so you probably won't discard all your research accumulated :D

I think i have about 3 folders 20cm thick of information i gathered for my old humanities topics :(

Yeah and if you're thinking about doing humanities for uni it'll get worse. F*ck
