my periods 10 days late and im not sure why. ive done 3 pregantcy tests.. 1 when it was 6 days later, one at 8, then another at 10 and all say that im not pregante. im waiting for my next period so i can start the pill but my period just wont come. ive got no idea why.. can i start my pill (and keep using protection for a while cause i know it wont be effective immediantly) or is better just to keep on waiting for my period.

i havnt lost weight and im not stressed, so other than weightloss, stress and pregnatcy why would my period be so late?

If you use Norplant, Mini-Pill, or Depo-Provera for your birth control that can suppress ovulation and ur period.

Perhaps your brand of pill is too low in estrogen.

yeah that happend 2 my friend the doc wanted her 2 wait until her period to start the pill but her periods were REALLY irregular... (like once every 6 months)

she waited for a while and then just started taking it.. and now everythings regular

you'll need 2 use protection for about 3 months apparently

Look for some other factors in your life (like doing a lot of sport, stressed, eating properly, sexually transmitted diseases, drugs etc).
Probably should go see your doctor if you can't find an obvious cause such as above, or maybe you just missed one period which occasionally happens, it's not really seen as a huge problem unless you don't have one for 2-3 months.

Anyway best of luck and don't take medical advice from here and me :D

You just finished your HSC. Some of my friends have late periods too. It was a stressful 4 weeks. Mine was late and I'm on the pill... which is bizarre, it shouldnt happen... (well it was only late two days bahaha)

But if you don't think so, speak to your doctor.

No don't start the pill without your period. It won't work effectively, plus you'll be forcing your period... which doesn't sound too good... I dunno. I'm hazey on this paragraph, but yeah, it could be stress.

if she is stressing already she should go to the doctor...dont start taking the pill until youve had a proper examination of why your period is late. i spoke to a specialist on friday about all of this sort of stuff and the pill....though im an exception...i started the pill on saturday but i didnt have my period...i had to start cause id just had an abortion so she said it was the same...but im serious, you guys who just started anyway could be lucky, but others might not be. like the consequences wont be anything as drastic as you'll die, but if your period is late, something may be wrong.
