Hi,

Could anyone give me an indication what LAW 203 Torts would be like in terms of assessment, content and the difficulty and general perceptions.

If anyone has a previous subject outline could they please attch it.

Thanks (a bit nervous for Sem 2)

I didn't do Torts at Macquarie but I did it at UWS and it should be pretty much the same. Its not too difficult, if you have done contracts I would say it isn't much more difficult that contracts. It is similar as there are defined elements for a Tort. I hope I helped relaxed u a bit and hope someone on here can give you a better idea on the Macquarie course/

The easiest subject you'll do in your law degree...well that's my biased opinion. The lectures are well structured and easy to follow. It was 40% essay, 50% take-home hypothetical (it'll always be a take-home if penelope is taking it) and 10% class participation. There is a higher number of students receiving Distinction in this subject (compared to other subjects 100-300 level).

I remember that day. It was crazy crazy heat, I remember my ass was stuck to the seat in sweat. It was disgusting... ugh.

But I loved the subject. If it is still taught by Lawrence, you will have a ball :)

Lawrence was in charge of my crim law tute, greater teacher that really clarified the content and made clear the important parts.

Very strict on rules such as mobile phones and talking, but he kept a good learning environment.

I still have a crush on Lawrence, all of my friends know it. But its an intellectual crush, not a sexual, lust-filled crush. He was my tutor in torts, too. Fantastic man.

I liked his stories of lawyers holidays, and how you'd get excited about seeing Mrs Donoghue's house :)

Yeah I had Lawrence for Crim 1 this semester.

He seems to be one of the more known tutors/lecturers at Mac. Its funny because everyone who has had him for any subject really respects him and genuinely likes the guy.

Thanks for putting my fears at ease guys.

It's only ever been a sit-down the year Penelope was on sabattical (which coincidentally seems to be the year everyone else on this forum took the unit).

A lot of the girls in my year had crushes on Lawrence, before their affections moved to Cameron Stewart.

Reading my mind??

They are both gorgeous men (intellectually... I think Cameron needs a haircut).

i dont even know what cameron looks like since i never went to a property law lecture in semester 2. all i know is his voice.

and the fact that he enjoys cases involving breast implants....plastic surgery or something involving a doctor taking advantage of a patient for sex.

i suspect he has a dirty mind.

or ofcourse the reasonable explanation is that he specialises in health law.

:santa:

I only know what he looks like after a friend urged me to google him to look at his hair.

Its very early 90s, he has an undercut thing going on. Apart from that, he is awesome :)

IWR, I like to think he has a dirty mind... A mind that inspired him to specialise in health law...
