Its a great law school - generally considered to be one of the best in the country, up there with usyd, umelb ect.

Areas of strenth:
International law (ANU is the only uni that has international law as compuslary to its degree.)
Public Law
Commercial Law
Environmental Law
Intellectual Property Law

If you want more info go to law.anu.edu.au In particular the site has all the lecturers listed and thier qualifications somewhere. I am not sure what the policy is at other unis but I heard ANU expects its lecturers to publish at least 2 research papers a year and a textbook once every 3 - 5 years so the lecturers have usually got some publications to thier name.

It also has notable strengths in Japanese law, Labour Law, Legal history, Practical leagal training, criminal law and justice and interdisciplinary studies.

I just went to their open day and the president of the law society was discussing the difference between ANU, and the BIG law schools, primarily Monash ( Australia's biggest law school). He said that ANU not only has a fantastic rep and brillant contatcs in the industry, but it has focused attention on its students due to its smaller size. You can actually contact the academic staff and ask for their guidance. He stated " They treat you as a person, not a number."

If i get in, i'll see you there next year! :D

I like the fact its not in sydney but I think that is still the main reason why our cutoffs are alot lower.

As for boredome - the uni bar opens around 10am every day :D

Not meaning to sound racist or anything here, but I was just wondering what's the racial composition in law in ANU? I'm a recent migrant to Australia from Malaysia (I'm Chinese), and I was hoping to study Com/Law in ANU next year. I speak fluent english as english is my first language, but I do have an accent though, which I guess is unavoidable! Neways, I guess I'm just trying to ask what's the racial composition of the law students in ANU, and whether there are any international law students there. Ciao! :)
