please excuse the noob question but...

i'm a uts student doin legal method and research this sem...
we've basically been given a legal problem and told to give the person legal advice.

i sorta have an idea of what im doing, but i have like...20 cases, and i'm thinkin....do i really need to read all of them to see which ones i need to use?

yea. i'm a tad lost...

If it's a research question, read the casenotes, then the cases themselves as needed.

If it's a problem question - which this one is - then read your textbook and lecture notes. They will give you an idea of what legal doctrines apply to your fact situation. In doing so, they will also mention cases - some of which are probably on the list of cases you have been given. Know the key principles from the relevant cases and apply as necessary.

Note: knowing the key principle from a given case may require reading it, but through creative use of the textbook and lecture slides, it often doesn't.
