The computer lab sessions for the Foundations of Law unit are part of a short research sub-course within Foundations. It runs for about five weeks.

The class involves introductory research skills, including accessing online journals and other assorted paraphernalia. It is fairly basic, but it is essential knowledge for any law student. Your teacher will also show you how to find books and resources in the law library.

At the end of the five weeks there is a small pass/fail test, whereby you simply need to pass. It is very easy, if you go along to all your classes.

The law lab is on Level 8 of the Law Library, adjacent to a photocopying room. Level 8 is accessible by the main lift in the Law building foyer, or by walking up the fire stairs from level 7 if taking the lift within the library.

Usually however, the Foundations research class meets on level 9 of the law library. To get there, you must go to level 8 and walk up the stairs within the law library. If you are unsure of where to go, just ask the librarian and they will show you the way.
