Explain the tension between community interests and individual rights and Freedoms.
Hey, we were doing some revision for legal studies the other day and we had to answer this question and i bombed it. Can anyone help me formulate some good arguments and evidence to answer this question.

Below are some ideas that you can use in your essay
- Police powers; how they can interfere with the rights of citizens such as the powers to search and seizure, sniffer dogs etc.
- Police gathering evidence in criminal investigations; use of technology such as phone taps etc
- The criminal trial process; the Jury Amendment Act (Verdicts) Act 2006, Plea Bargaining
- The sentencing process; Judicial discretion
