Heya,
Okies, so I just finished yr11 and I'm doing home schooling but I do two computer courses at TAFE.
Next year, I'm only going to have my IT course at tafe since I finished my other one this year (it was accelerated so i started it this year and just did the hsc for it) and I've been wanting to take up Legal Studies, this chick at TAFE has told me I can do Legal Studies like I did my IPT course so I can start it next year and do the hsc for it next year too. She's all worried that I'll be doing too much because I've got my four home school subjects (Adv. Eng, Business, Ancient and Modern) and my IT at tafe.

I want to do a double bachelors of Law and Journalism in University, so I think Legal may be somewhat beneficial to that, even just a little bit.

So I was wondering what everyones oppinions are about legal? What did you all cover in the topic and what did you like the most?

I just want to get a grasp on how the course is sort of set, so I know if I should do it next year. So yeh, oppinions are muchly appreciated.
Thanks

legal is good, it probably doesnt benefit u in uni, maybe only gives u the basic concepts...its a good subject and if u good and understanding things its interesting as it requirs u to keep track of current news... so do it and enjoy it

Legal Studies shouldn't be put in the same boat as Law, Legal Studies is a Social Science, it studies people's interaction and reactions with the law. Many people actually find law to be difficult at university becuase they can't apply the same principles they coudl in legal studies, in legal studies we ask how and why, in Law it is stricly what and being analytical of the law says, not som mcuh what people think.

Yeah adamj is right in those regards, legal studies is more 'law & society' instead of law. Law at uni is strictly the facts. However if you are a social sciency person you will love it, and if you're interested in it you won't find it hard at all (thus that will get you higher marks and a better UAI). I'd say go for it, but I do know that the rest of my class hated legal.

Oh and sorry I haven't spoken to you for a while Rory, been incredibly busy, but I'll be in touch soon!
