The first one will only be about 4 marks, the second would only be 2 or so marks, the third isnt a question, they can only ask you specific definitions.

Major ones that could be 7 marks:
Water treatment
Biopolymer
Importance of monitoring Haber Process
Affects of oxides of Nitrogen and Sulfur on the society and the environment

lucyinthehole: I've seen so many people make this mistake, YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW A NAMED CHEMIST, YOU NEED TO KNOW A NAMED BRANCH OF CHEMISTRY.

Every single point on the syllabus is a 7 mark question possibility. Sadly, that's the way sciences go - and I know will be the reason behind my downfall tomorrow.

"outline the role of a chemist employed in a named branch of industry or enterprise"
hmmm, i guess that is to be interpreted kinda like "the responder" in english is. just a general, hypothetical chemist, as opposed to a particular one. but you can see how it's possible to interpret the other way, don't you?

i think u overlooked the identify "a is b" type stuff on the syllabus.

You would be asked to assess or detail the steps in purification of mass water supply.
I doubt it would be 7, but there is a 5 mark question on it in 2002

Yeah I can see what you mean, but trust me, all you need is a named branch. :)

"Outline the role of a chemist employed in a named industry or enterprise, identifying the branch of chemistry undertaken by the chemist and explaining a chemical principle that the chemist uses "

Yeah just do analytical chemistry. A chemical principle used is absorption for gas-solid chromatography...

This is used in the industry for monitoring the quality of ethylene produced like at the Qenos plant.

according to Conqering chem anyways.
