Are vitamins broken down by the liver? It's part of a cloze passage.
I'm thinking that along with old red blood cells and alcohol, vitamins are also broken down by the liver.
Edit 1: i mean, my only other option would be within the kidneys, but they get rid of excess salts and water and reabsorb amino acids and glucose for use by body cells. Vitamins like to be absorbed by the small intestines too, but this is really confucius.
