i found this comment surprisingly hilarious, thought id share it with you guys.

like, say they said 'derive this from first principles' you do it the cheat way and make up the algebra beause you don't know first principles, but still get the right answer because you did it the cheat way.

I assume it means making the algebra seem to fit the question - confusing the marker in an attempt to give a mark for getting the method correct. Or having numbers appear out of nowhere etc.

It applies to those three mark questions involving demonstrating how equation x can be proved by using the stimulus equation provided (or referring to a Proof)

Fudging is where you do working out that can relate or not relate to a proof question, but proving it without proper reasoning, thereby skipping many steps, or writing persuasive garbage, and saying something like "hence a-b < a+b".

This is probably commonly done in induction lol - especially 4U induction.
