Hey everyone, first time posting here.

Alright well i finished my HSC a couple of years ago ended up stuffing around and not taking it nearly as seriously as i should, and i have reached a point where i am considering doing my HSC over again(at tafe) to gain an UAI(or what ever it has been changed to) that will allow me to gain entrance into uni.

I have been getting certificates and recently dropped out of a bachelor's degree due to personal reasons i would rather not go into.

Basically i originally wanted to get into a career in medicine, and im assuming that the logical way to go about this, would to first do
medical science then progress to something else in medicine.

However as i said my original HSC marks where simply not good enough, so im here asking you guys for some advice or any input you can give me, as to what subjects i should take to help me get into medical science, any tips or what not from someone who has done the HSC at tafe, or has done something simmler to what i am doing is GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers guys.

I don't know much specifically about Medicine, but most people I know who want to go there concentrated mostly on maths and sciences. Medical Science isn't the only way to get into graduate medicine - you can basically do any undergrad degree you want. Med Sci is obviously the one most closely linked, though.

One issue that you will have to consider is that as you have past tertiary study, the marks you got in your bachelor's degree and/or higher level TAFE certificates will be considered when you apply, and may bring your ATAR (that's what the UAI is called now) either up or down. If your marks in your other studies haven't been great, particularly in the bachelor's degree, you may need to investigate other options.
