Randomly I thought of this today

the ring wraiths supposedly will search for the ring for all eternity right, thats all they do.

Then why do they leave bilbo's house without finding the ring? wouldn't you keep searching the house until you find it? Its not like you have anything else to do.

I dunno.. I don't think even the most careful of readers can avoid being crushed by the sheer weightlessness of the ennui that's Tolkein.

thats why i've never read hobbit....takes too long to get going. Lord of the Rings only got read because i forced myself in about a third or a half a book and then got captured in. once they get going they're good, imo, but they take too long before they really draw you in

I didn't get past about the 2nd chapter of the Hobbit and i almost fell asleep watching the first 2 movies. Still haven't seen the last one.
