just wondering where the best place for schoolies 08 would be, currently looking at booking at the gold coast, but have a place at lorne which is just over an hr away which we be an awesome option for schoolies. Just asking for suggestions for those who have already been, is it worth the money going up to QLD or NSW or is lorne just as good. Any ideas.

its definately worth the money to get accomodation right near the heart of surfers. i had friends who had accomodation in coolangatta and even there it was so much of a hassle to come in and go out every night. we stayed at the surf regency 150m from cavill and it was unreal! so easy to get to and from you wanted to go. but if you dont wanna pay the money...

dont go to either.
surfers is really really trashy, and lorne has one pub.
go to byron - i went this year and it was absolutely fantastic.

Go to surfers in week three then. It still has the mad venues and heaps of people around buts theres alot less trouble.
