Edit: 100 km/h speed limits are from a time when cars weren't built nearly as well and had significantly worse brakes, suspension, crumple zones, no airbags, useless seatbelts (if any) and worse tires. "Speeding" isn't a factor in any accidents. Driving too fast for the conditions is. There's a big difference.
funny story actually

about two weeks ago a dude from my town died after rolling his ute at 200km. it was a dead straight stretch of road.

the point of the story was;
it was a dead straight stretch of road but it was also riddled with pot holes and was as uneven as all fuck. needless to say at 200km/h he didn't have the reflexes of a cat and drove into a table drain.

i didnt see the wreck but i hear it was epic. and by epic i mean the engine was 50 metres away from the rest of the wreck and he was propelled through the windscreen

well dude, the table drain was along the side of the rode. i doubt the table drain was even on his mind as he lost control at 200km/h

the table drain could have been up ahead of where he couldn't see.

no of course i don't think that, only morons would advocate for such speeds
but he deemed that road safe enough to go that sort of speed, this is a argument for speed and conditions.

I'll repeat for the like 5th time: dependant on conditions. Other people coming in the opposite direction is a condition. Being on a shitty road is a condition.

he knew the road which is what perplexes me even more. he would have known how sit it was, i think he was just pushing his luck that day.
