hmm, i never got the whole "I want 100 past papers" mentality. Basically go over every chapter you've done for revision, then attack 10 papers max before an exam. That strategy seemed to work fine...and you get the sense of completion by poring through every chapter, and doing a sensible amount from each.

u know how many ext2 papers I've done in my life?
seven! (or maybe eight): hsc 1998, 2000-2003 and the rest are some trials
a bit more if u count school assessments as papers

and seven for ext1 too lol

never got to do all those damn papers
but I didnt do too well in the exam :p

u hav examples of some1 who succeeds becoz of past papers.. withoutaface seems to benefit from it
but u also have examples of ppl who succeed without doing too much practice.. Archman would be one...
and you have examples of some1 who succeeds with textbooks.. nit
so it doesnt matter what u use as long as you work hard or you just have the talent
but past papers would definitely help with questions 8 I think.

u also have a few ppl who think that looking at solutions to particular hard questions is a total waste of time.. hmm... I personally disagree becoz if u dont look at solutions u'll waste more time. the best thing to do is to look at solutions at first then as u gain experience u can re-do the questions without cheating and stop that habit when doing some other hard questions.

oh, forgot to mention that I dont think past papers are suitable for preparation for assessments before trial and for study at an early stage of your year 12.
reading the textbook (not just the exercises but also the paragraphs) is a good idea to understand concepts.
