They'll be higher in some courses at some unis and lower at others - as they are every year.

IIRC, the overall number of applications was down this year, which probably means that a higher percentage of those who applied will qualify for a university place than last year.

Last year there was a massive drop in the uai's for some courses due to the government opening up more spaces (particularily at uws), and there being a smaller ammount of students in the 2004 cohort.

I don't believe this will happen this year, however I do believe there could be some changing trends amongst courses people are interested in.

Well I'd regard it as good overall if a smaller percentage of people miss out on a uni place, but lets wait until we see how many people have to switch from Commonwealth sponsored to full-fee paying before we make the call on whether the outcome is good or bad.

well seeing that if less ppl apply for uni, there is gonna be a greater chance that there are less ppl doing each course, so the cut-offs will be lower. so in that case, it's good.
