I find the foodhall scary - so i just bring food from home
If you find the prices/food bad - why not just buy at MQ Centre on the way to uni or during break or somethign - more choice, better food, less cost

If I do get food, that's what I usually do. Sometimes, when it's either too hot or I'm too lazy, I'll try my luck with the on-campus food choices.

far out.. and i ordered wonton noodles... friken they don even make it themselves they got it from a supermarket packet (i saw them take it outta the fridge) GRRRR...

I don't get it.. what's the point of a SAM card when you don't get discounts?

I was lead on to think that you get 10% off all food or something

If you flash it at Macquarie Centre, you get freebies and discounts.
JB-HIFI give 10% off all purchases, McDonalds will give you free coke or chips with a handburger pruchase (make sure you say you are from the univeristy) and yeah - go to www.sam.org.au - on the site there is a list of companies who participate (from memory) if not, check your SAM diary, there is a few pages of information on what copmanies participate and what they give students

Still nothing compared to their staff discount of cost price! If I were in retail still I'd so work there, simply for the facility to run a near-overheadless and risk free eBay business!
