I'd like to make one, preferrably with Invision. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Cos Uni subjects are so far in terms of content/structure/ideas, that to have a collective one based on 'notes' is stupid. Plus anything on the internet in a collective increases the chance it'll be picked up by plaigarism tools.

Plus we already have a better community and they stole the name :(

I do see where you are coming from, and i read all of the trollfest forums, only reason i didnt post was because it was nothing but a fucking stupid argument over who gets laid and whos balls have dropped yet.

However, i dont see anything wrong with a site privately made for uni students, and it could be seen as a spaced out community for uni students so i was thinking, why not make a site for university of wollongong students so that a specific target audience could be called out ?

boredofstudies back in 2003 was originally for high school, and it helped me alot, but when i got to uni i thought hang on this site is useless now... thats why i thought it would be a good idea for a site made specifically for uni.

I just want to argue a point in a way which is mature and respectful

But your site isn't that good?

You've barely got anything up there at the moment, plus you did rip off the name which is pretty lacking in creativity or imagination.

So you agree it's a shitty site :) Also, I'd like to make the point that nobody was arguing about who's balls hadn't dropped, just that random nubcake guy was saying mine hadn't! I didn't lower myself to his level, I just found some happy snaps and had a laugh at his expense, which is clearly the mature thing to do in such a situation.

Also, judging by the various failed attempts at making specific forums for the unis, you'd think people would get the hint. There doesn't actually appear to be enough uni students who regularly geek it up on forums to sustain one. This is also demonstrated by the fact that participation in the uni sections of this (which is apparently quite a heavily utilised community) site thin out at tertiary level, despite there being subsections galore for it.

I'd say that almost all of the uni people you see on here are A) procrastinating or B) internationals desperate for someone to do their homework or C) internationals looking for someone to tell them about things in this country. Oh wait, and D) sexual predators looking for children (See: lengy). Is this really material to build a forum on?

There have been at least two major attempts at creating a website for UoW students that I've seen, or three if you count the Trollfest one. I'd give you addresses, but I didn't record them because they were dead communities with little to no participation. I think perhaps, this is a sign.

As nice as it is to make a site and say "right, this is for uow students", the bit where it falls down is in that they don't actually use it in numbers great enough for it to be beneficial for anyone to participate in, or even particularly sustainable unless you like the idea of a private forum used exclusively by five people.

First and foremost, BoS was created and maintains its popularity due to one primary concept: demand.

Without that demand, its a dead forum. Without a community already well established prior to its opening, there is little chance it will thrive.
