I find guys generally heaps more fun to be around, but I make closer friendships with girls. Uni... so far... not much time yet to have made real friends, just talking to people in tutes and maybe on MSN.

Maybe it's because I find it weird going out of my way to spend time with people I see 2 hours a week. If we bump into each other near a food place - sure, go get something to eat/coffee... but otherwise, nothing.

well in terms of "friendships" I'd definately go for guys. It seems that we stick together for ages.
Most older people I know who are female dont see any of their high school friends anymore etc. The guys, ive found, are still mates.

Although, casual talking and hanging out with girls is swell. Especially really cool bubbly ones.

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, i havent made many guy friendships at uni. More with girls. Partly because a number of my mates already go there. Secondly, a lot of the guys aren't really the type I'd be mates with. I get along with most guys fine (maybe not lebs. I hate those guys). I'm pretty likeable too. But in terms of my 'ideal' guy-friend (no im not being homoerotic) I haven't met many yet. Mostly jocks.

i suppose ive only properly met like 7 or 8 girls at uni and im only really friends with 3 or so of them now. And for me that seems like nothing, but i suppose at school i was always friends with lots of girls...

even now looking at my mates i guess i do have more female friends then most of them. so maybe my sister was good for something, even if all we ever did when we were young was fight.

i've never really got on with girls, so i was hardly surprised that the main people i got on with at uni were the guys...

we girls are evil little creatures

even though in highschool in senior yrs is normal to have friends of the opposite sex, some people still reframe from it. But in uni do ppl change and make friends with the opposite sex or sticks mainly with their own gender?
Does this issue really deserve a thread? :p

well i have made friends of both sexes at uni so far. Even i have friends of both sexes i generally hang around my male friends because of these reasons:
1) I dont get pussy whiped that easy
2) I have more things in common with other guys, eg: games, tv shows, drinking, sports
3) Since im a smoker and all the girls i know so far arent i fink its unfair for me to be constantly smoking near them even though they accept me being near them smoking

Given the valid discussion taking place in this thread, I would say it wasn't UNDESERVING of it, so... yes.

Poor guy. He has probably longed for you since yr 7.
He actually asked me out year 8, I said no because I liked someone else at the time.

But he's had a few girlfriends since :p
