hi guys, just wondering as to how u become a management accountant???

i was intially thinking of doing bcom at unsw with acct + finance majors, and then do CA...BUT then after doing sum salary searching, i found that CA's earn arnd 70-80K, where management accountants get like 100-110K.

so doing bcom at unsw with acct + fin majors plus what else do u need to become a managment accnt??

thankssssssss

This thread should be moved to the Commerce/Econ forums.

But just a question to you, do you know what Management Accounting is about?

And im not sure, but wouldn't you be able to work towards that "management" position even after you've done a CA ?

Most, if not all management accountants are CA/CPA qualified. It'd be extremely difficult to get that sort of position without significant experience and the qualification.

Go pick up a management accounting textbook at the uni bookshop next year and it'll show you what mgmt accounting is about

My sister is currently considering switching to management accounting from audit- she said that a lot of the more interesting accounting paths require a foundation in another area such as audit.
