do you get marks deducted for not writing the state in a chemical equation??

How to tell if something is aqueous or liquid?? i always get mixed up

probably. i think in our school exams we've had half marks deducted. usually you know from the context of the equation. cos for most equations you'd be using, you'd know what they represent... well, in a perfect world....

Is dependent on the marking scheme and the band level they are marking to. In most cases they will be looking for states.

If the reaction is occuring in water then its aq otherwise l, in general. Except for water which in a liquid form is always l

There is no half marks in HSC marking so it will be marked right or wrong.
