I know a guy who DIDN'T get into UNSW or Newcastle.
ATAR : 99.70
2U Maths : 19th in NSW (Year 11)
UMAT : 92nd percentile
He said he did alright in his interview...
UNSW average ATAR is low 99s. Not sure about UMAT.
It's tough.

Most get in the 99s with 85th percentile or above and a very good interview

You need sufficiently high marks to demonstrate that you can independently find out the lowest marks required to enter medical school.

Check on the unsw website. But the minimum atar considered is atleast 96. That being said i think 96 is not good enough for consideration and pretty much you won't even have a chance against the people with 99, thats if you have a killer umat and interview.

To OP, ATAR you need depends on how good you in interview and do on the UMAT.

At UNCLE 93.8+, good interview and around 178 (UMAT).

To not get into JMP, you'd have to fail really hard at either UMAT, but most probably the interview!

For UNSW i'd say ATAR of 99.60 and UMAT 96th percentile is "average"

but there are non-rural meddies with UMAT in the low 80s or ATARs in the mid 96s (but not both <_<)

From the top of my head,

UMAT cut offs last year for interviews were:
UNCLE 91st percentile
Monash 93rd percentile
UWS varies for gws/non-gws -> 85 percentile sufficed if section 1 + 2 were high
UADE 91st percentile
UQ 89th percentile with section 1 score of 66

i.e. anything less than 85th percentile is mostly gg :L

Dont you need to be living in rural areas for like 3 yrs before applying or something?
