Marks or the UAI? Which is getting on your nerves?
After everyone gets their marks, they relax and forget about the uai.
I'm predicting that waiting for the marks is most nerve-wracking to wait for. Marks make up the UAI, but the uai decides your future.

Hope you all get the marks and the uai you want!

I think 'll be able to come up with an estimate UAI within a 'give or take 5 UAI points' range after seeing my results... unless the UAI's dramatically fall this yr...so really im prolly more nervous about my results... but I admit, Im probably just saying that because the results come out 1st... after the results come out, the wait for the UAI will be a veeeery long one...

the SMH people are misinformed... the sms wont have ur UAI

Is it possible to guess your uai, using just your marks, without using any data from uac or the sam? You all can guess it within 5 uai points.

Yes and no. UAI is cohort based and as a result you can't predict how everyone else will go. But in certain situations it is possible to make a guess using your internal rank provided your school performs consistently in those subjects and you know where ranks in previous years would get in terms of marks.

As Templar has stated "Yes and No."

I will be using SAM, however, from experimenting with marks obtained in 2004 and their equivalent UAI's (for the subjects I do), U can sort of see a trend, not really..lol, but sort of. whatever SAM 2003 estimates for me, I will deduct about 3 UAI points, and deduct another 3-5 UAI points because as the 'trend' seems to show, the cohorts keep getting smarter, of course this doesnt necessarily have to be the case this yr, but its better to be safe than sorry!

To some, deducting 6-8 UAI points may sound like alot, but this would be the case if my UAI (according to SAM 2003) is below 90 - (which is what im expecting)... By doing this, Im pritty sure I'll be surprised with what I get as well!

Then again, Ive kind of developed My own UAI calculation system, using only my calculator, I estimated a few UAI's in 2003 and 2004 within a +- 1-2 UAI pts range (of course I did this in 2005, after i knew what the UAI's were, but I took on a few results for subjects I was familiar with and came pritty close to calculating the exact UAI...although my caculator method would only be suitable for estimating UAI's under about 92... and obviously it all depends on the cohort)

Oh and my calculator method has been off target alot of times (but generaly within a 5 UAI pts range - give or take)

This thread is stupid because the two things are mutually inclusive. Good marks = good UAI, and bad marks = bad UAI.

I feel pretty dumb asking, buttttt, what's the site what PIN number do you need to access your hsc MARKS (not UAI) tomorrow morning? I have my four digit UAC number, is this the right one? Consider this last minute stress induced mental retardation.

Honestly, I thought the wait for marks was more nerve racking. IMO.

I thought I screwed up a few of my exams (really badly) but after I saw that I did OK I relaxed a bit.

I could also then use the JUAI and SAM things with my actual HSC marks (as opposed to my horrid raw assessment marks) and it was all good. :) Those things are pretty accurate btw.
