Its not the artists who get the money, those people who think so are sorely mistaken.
They make their money not from records, mainly due to the fact that record companies sign them up under contracts which, if they were to get anything back after recouping production costs, would be in the area of $1-2 per $30 cd.
Now thats assuming they are under production costs, which is usually not the case, with all the video clips and marketing. Therefore revenue must be sought out through other means, such as live shows and merchandise, which is the biggest industry since the decline of records.
You are ripping off big companies, big companies have money and more importantly lawyers.
Lawyers issue notices which can shut down, say a forum like BoS. Now that is why we would appreciate links to such copyrighted material not to be accessible on here.
It is not a nazi camp, to call it so would be a gross overstatement and insulting to those who were in concentration camps.
It, just like any other place in reality, has rules and boundaries, and those who police those, it has been seen that if the mod/smod is unwanted that there is pressure and consideration with regards to their position, as a happy community is sought after, but also realise that the "social" aspect of this forum, plays a secondary role to its original and still primary aspect as an academic forum.
