Can someone give me a basic rundown of what Marxism is and what you would look for in a marxist analysis.

is it in any way similar to practical criticism of functionalism? (i know these)

Don't know about the last question and can't give a definition you wouldnt get from going to google and typing in: define:marxism.


I once did an essay on how the Snow White-Dwarves relationship was marxist however...lol...snow white being the upper classes representative and the dwarves representing the proletariat.

in marxism theres an inherent emphasis on class as being power structures - this compares with foucault as he believes power is solely based on discourse. also, in marxism there tends to be an analysis centred the dichotomy of economics and societies - how they function in relation to eachother.
