Dear MATH1903 representatives,

I am currently booking rooms for next year, and would like to ask your
opinion regarding the lecture timetable for MATH1903. Would you have
preferred the lectures to be at 4pm, rather than 8am? (Assuming that the
lectures did not clash with your other subjects.)

Looking forward to your response,
Sandra Britton

I dont really like the 8am ones, but if my timetable was the same as my current one, 4pm lectures would give me with three days of huge gaps, wednesday - 5 hour gap, thursday - 5 hours, friday - 4 hours. So I'd much prefer the 8am ones, which only mean getting to uni an hour earlier every day.

David Easdown is an awesome lecturer by the way.

I think 4pm lectures would be a pain having to stay back at uni until 5pm. And yeah, people would probably have large gaps before then also.
But then again it's first year, so let's leave them (next year's) with the crappy hours :D.

8am tends to not really have any clashes, whereas I suspect that 4pm lectures would involve clashes for many people - I have classes 4-5 on mondays, tuesdays and fridays, for example. Again, 4pm lectures can induce unnecessary gaps in timetables. I'm happy with 8-9.

'sif you ever turn up, Robert :p

like House...wtf?

Easdown is a brilliant lecturer, but I got bored with the amount of digression we had this semester - we spent more time on pacman, tori and fourier analysis than on examinable stuff...

dat's y we like him. Most of the examinable materials are easy anyways...so spending the whole time studying them would be real tiresome.

and regarding his likness to House....hmmm...nah....House is rude and lovable...but D.E. is polite.

Although he did remind me of House when he walked in with that cane of his:D

"You know what's the good thing about walking with a cane?.....people respect you. If they don't, you can wack them with it" - Easdown :D:D

BTW. Raimondo is a total bore...specially his gay French accent!:p

I second that xiao... Quinne is by far the most boring lecturer in the world. He pauses after ten minutes and stands there for another five before slowly continuing his ramble.

sqrt20 = sqrt(4*5) = 2sqrt5

so -2 +- sqrt20/2 = -2 +- 2sqrt5/2

Just remove the 2's as a common factor and you get -1 +- sqrt5
