if im doing this plan (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/plans/2006/MICRC13930.html) also with a maths major, do i have to do math1041?

I thought that the question was referring to whether he can use higher maths that he's done in place of math1041, i.e can he get an exemption.

Iruka, I will already have 1231/1241 (if trenerry lets me), but the plan for micro says i need 1041, so do i need to do it, or will i get exempted as im doing a maths major?

Yes, I am doing discrete. (I didn't know about that 18uoc thing though). I'll check with them on monday. Thanks. Btw Iruka, did you do Higher math in 1st yr? If not, did you find doing higher in 2nd yr was a big jump?

Yeh I want to do some higher subjects in 2nd yr, but was a little unsure of whether i'll cope as im doing normal now. Im finding normal fairly ok, so I hope higher wont be much of a jump. (plus i dont think i can switch to 1241, unless i get 90+ which i doubt very much)
