Hi,

I was wondering if band 6 was still possible for me.
My school is ranked around 85. And for Maths 30th in the state .
My rank is around 22/39... ( with accelerated students). In my half yearly I got 73% (30 % weighting) and I got 69% (10 % weighting) . Is band 6 possible?? If so what will I need in trials etc

Thanks.

I did accelerated last year and averaged 89%, and even though my school is ranked 400 and something, I ended up with a 96. You still could get a band 6, but you will probably have to get into the 90s in your trial and in your HSC. And if you have the resources, compare how hard your exams were to other schools to see if it was hard/easy. But before you spend all your time trying to get a band 6 in math, make sure your other subjects, are at least a band 5, because there's no point getting a band 6 in math, if all your other subjects are band 4. It's better to have 3 band 5s and 2 band 4s.
