So I do realise that when you do the hsc course for math, 30% of the exam can be tested on prelim outcomes...

I was wondering if a personal will 'struggle' if they don't really perform well in prelim. Like is it 100% essential that you achieve well in the prelim so you can do the hsc subject?

I was in accelerated 2unit math and i achieved better in hsc. To tell you the truth i didn't try for the prelim. so just wondering if that will probably be the case for most people doing extension math?

what are your views? experiences? ty

No, performance in Prelim is no indication of HSC results

Prelim: 3U i got 62%, then 55% for first two.
And I got 88% for the first 3U HSC test and I'm doing my next one next week.
So not really indicative.
But if you didn't go good towards to end then you should probably step up your game.

Of course you are going to struggle with year 12 if you don't understand the preliminary content. But there's been a year for you to understand it and there's no reason why you can't do well in yr 12 even if you do bad in yr 11.
